Checkers — Support

How to play

• Pass and play: two players share one device, taking turns. Red moves first.
• Move: tap one of your pieces (highlighted with a gold ring), then tap a glowing destination square.
• Capture: jump diagonally over an opponent's piece into the empty square beyond it. Multi-jumps happen in one tap.
• Captures are mandatory: if a jump is available you must take it. Tap a locked piece, or the "Why?" link, for an explanation.
• Kings: reach the far row and your piece is crowned, gaining the ability to move and jump backward.
• Winning: capture all of your opponent's pieces, or leave them with no legal move.

Frequently asked questions

A piece won't move — why?

In checkers, if any capture is available you must take it. Pieces that can't capture are temporarily locked. Tap the "Why?" link in the status bar for details.

How do I turn move hints on or off?

Each player has their own "Hints" toggle in the score bar. Turn it off for a tougher game with no suggestion markers.

Can I set player names?

Yes — tap a player's name (with the ✎ pencil) above the score to edit it.

Is there an AI / single-player opponent?

Not yet — the current version is two-player pass-and-play. More modes are planned.

Does the game work offline?

Completely. No internet connection is required or used.
